Even with the limited amount of energy that can be transported to the Moon, Toyota and the Japanese space agency (JAXA) have decided to accelerate studies of a pressurized moon rover which uses electric vehicle technologies with fuel cells to conceive a total lunar surface cruising range of more than 10,000 kilometers.

It is a six-wheeled vehicle that looks like a van, and has the ability to deploy a large solar panel on one side to recharge the batteries. According to the president of JAXA, Hiroshi Yamakawa:
